Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
We provide NDT inspection services to assist with integrity appraisal at fabrication, in-service, or decommissioning stage. Our range of NDT services covers standard NDT methods and advanced techniques.
Our inspectors are multi skilled and are certified to SNT Level II in accordance to SNT-TC-1A in different NDT inspection techniques such as MT, PT, VT, UT, RT and ET. As a corporate partner of the American Society for Non Destructive Testing (ASNT) we follow the society’s strict guidance and codes of practice.
At JCI Services, we consistently review our operating procedures to suit current changes in NDT standards.
Magnetic Particle Inspection
Magnetic Particle Inspection otherwise known as MPI is a method that can be used to find surface and near surface flaws in ferromagnetic materials such as steel and iron it is primarily used for crack detection.
The basic procedure that is followed to perform magnetic particle testing consists of the following:
- Pre-cleaning of component
- Introduction of Magnetic field
- Application of magnetic media
- Interpretation of magnetic particle indications our experienced and qualified NDT inspector.
Dye Penetrant Testing
We have available more than 45 NDT technicians qualified to SNT Level II in Penetrant Testing (PT) in compliance with SNT-TC-1A. As a minimum, all JCI penetrant testing inspection engineers have more than one NDT qualification.
The types of defects that can be found with penetrant testing are:
- Rolled Products: Penetrant identifies anomalies (cracks, seams or laminations)
- Castings: cold shuts, hot tears, porosity, blowholes, or shrinkage.
- Forgings: Illuminating cracks, laps, or external bursts.
- Welds: To identify cracks, porosity, undercut, overlap, lack of fusion, or lack of penetration.
Ultrasonic Testing
The detection and location of discontinuities are enabled by the interpretation of ultrasonic wave reflections generated by a transducer.
We have available more than thirty (30) experienced UT technicians that are SNT Level II Ultrasonic Testing qualified in compliance with SNT-TC-1A. As a minimum, all JCI ultrasonic testing inspection engineers have more than one NDT
Eddy Current Testing
Eddy Current Testing is sensitive to small cracks and other defects. The inspection gives immediate results and detects surface and near-surface defect, JC International uses the latest sets of state of the art Eddy Current Testing for inspection.
As this is an advanced NDT method of inspection, skill, and experience are required. With over 10 years of experience in this field, we are able to understand the inspection readings.
